Transmissions in today’s vehicles are working under extreme temperature. Stop starts in the city and compact engine design has put the transmission under pressure to stay cool.  The advent of electronics added to this makes the transmission one of the most complex parts of today’s vehicle. Some people also tow a boat or trailer and forget that the extra heat load exacerbates this problem.  Together with the average cost for a replacement transmission being in the order of $2000 plus, it makes good sense to look after it.  A Transmission oil cooler should be fitted to these vehicles and even some common vehicles benefit greatly from an oil cooler.  The transmission works primarily on the oil pressure or (hydraulics) and it is imperative that the oil properties stays stable.  If the temperature exceeds its specification then the oil begins to breakdown.  This will cause the clutches & friction materials inside the transmission to fail therefore ending with a costly repair.

A transmission service includes replacement of oil & filter where necessary. Adjustments of any bands if required and a road test to verify its operation.
